Universality of edge transport in interacting topological insulators

Marcello Porta (Institut für Mathematik Universität Zürich)

Résumé

In this talk, I will present universality results for the edge transport properties of interacting, 2d topological insulators. I will mostly focus on the case of quantum Hall systems, displaying single mode edge currents. I will present a theorem establishing the universality of the edge conductance and the emergence of spin-charge separation. Combined with the well-known result for noninteracting systems, our theorem implies the validity of the bulk-edge correspondence for weakly interacting lattice models. If time permits, I will discuss extensions to time-reversal invariant systems. Joint work with Giovanni Antinucci (UZH/Tübingen) and Vieri Mastropietro (Milan).
