Abstract

The standard model for cosmology is extremely successful at explaining large scale phenomena. However, one of the main underlying assumptions, the validity of General Relativity, was never tested independently. To perform such test and disentangling between GR and extensions to it is one of the main tasks of the next generation of galaxies surveys. The small scales that will be reached require predictions to be made in the non-linear regime of cosmological evolution, for which cosmological simulations are required. In the context of standard gravity, techniques for running these simulations are very well understood and refined. While this is not the case for modified gravity, progress is being made. I will review techniques for simulating modified gravity as well as general results coming from cosmological simulations, which could give us a handle on how to construct new tests for GR and potentially detect corrections to it.
