Title: The magnetic two-centre problem: Some rigorous and numerical
properties

Abstract: The quantum two-centre systems consisting of an electron within the
Coulomb field of two fixed nuclear centres and an external homogeneous
magnetic field is investigated by rigorous tools from Schroediger
operator theory and by numerical methods. Various characteristic
properties are established. In particular, the question is studied
whether the known shrinking of the nuclear equilibrium positions for
increasing magnetic field strength could result in practical
applications for nuclear fusion.
