CMB lensing

Eiichiro KOMATSU
Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics

  1. Brief introduction of the CMB research; Temperature anisotropy from gravitational effects
  2. Power spectrum basics; Temperature anisotropy from sound waves
  3. Temperature anisotropy from sound waves [continued]; Cosmological parameter dependence of the temperature power spectrum
  4. Polarisation
  5. Polarisation [continued]; Gravitational waves and their imprints on the CMB

I describe the basic physics of the temperature and polarisation anisotropies of the CMB, and explain how the temperature and polarisation power spectra depend on the cosmological parameters. I finish the lecture by describing how gravitational waves affect the CMB.

  • Lecture slides will be made available before the lectures. They should be self-explanatory, and I would encourage you to print them out before coming to the lectures. If you are brave, bring Weinberg’s “Cosmology” because the notation follows his book.
