This hands on session will present the basic steps to build publication ready X-ray sky maps. Starting from the event lists, this lecture will review the different instrumental and astronomical backgrounds, the generation of exposure maps and the procedure to produce deep and/or large mosaics.

Fabio Acero est astrophysicien au laboratoire AIM/CEA-Saclay où il étudie les sources du rayonnement cosmique Galactique comme les vestiges de supernova les nébuleuses de pulsars et les pulsars. Après une thèse sur les vestiges de supernova en rayons X, il a travaillé au sein de la collaboration HESS (télescope Cherenkov en rayons gamma) et sur les données du satellite Fermi au Goddard Space Flight Center à la NASA.
