Groupe « Interactions fondamentales »
L’équipe de cosmologie comprend des chercheurs possédant une expertise en Cosmologie, Relativité Générale, Théorie Quantique des Champs et Physique des Particules. Ils collaborent et partagent des contrats nationaux et internationaux avec plusieurs groupes de théoriciens, cosmologistes, astronomes, astrophysiciens et physiciens des particules.
Depuis une quinzaine d’années une avalanche de données de grande qualité a transformé la cosmologie en un domaine fertile en résultats. Elle est devenue le lieu idéal pour tester et éventuellement falsifier les prédictions issues de plusieurs domaines de la physique fondamentale. Cette abondance d’informations a récemment permis la découverte de phénomènes inattendus comme l’accélération de l’expansion de l’univers et celle de signaux physiques recherchés depuis longtemps mais échappant à la détection telles les ondes gravitationnelles.
