The school will be held on the site of the Observatoire de Haute Provence (OHP), near the village of Saint Michel l'Observatoire

How to get there

A Bus service will be organized on Monday, May 27th from
  • Marseille Provence Airport à 10:00 : Upon your arrival get out the hall of the airport and join the bus park (opposite the entrance to Hall 4)
  • Aix-en-Provence TGV (railways station) at 10:30 : Upon the arrival cross the railway by a bridge towards the docks (departure) and get out the railway station (exit Zola), go to your left to reach the parking lot.
This bus will be identified by a sign with the words "OHP"

Similarly, a bus service is planned for Saturday, June 1st from the OHP to reach :
  • the Aix-en-Provence TGV (railways station) at the earliest at 16:00
  • Marseille Provence airport at the earliest at 16:30
In addition, a transport logistics can be organized with participants with their vehicle.

If you do not opt ​for the bus service organized by the school, you can go to either to Aix-en-Provence or Marseille, before reaching  Manosque by train or bus where we will pick you (at your demand), or you can take a taxi.

Specify all the information about of your arrival and departure in the questionnaire so that we can advise you.

By train (SNCF) to Aix-en-Provence TGV or Marseille Saint Charles, and a connexion to Manosque (train of bus).

By plane to Marseille Provence airport and take a bus to Manosque.


With a vehicle, use maps (Michelin or Mappy), and comply with the terms of access to OHP.  Be aware that the guest house is located on a site of astronomical observation, hence you must drive your vehicle with pilot light exclusively. It is strongly recommended to bring comfortable shoes for stony paths, sun protection and a flashlight, for daily walks within the site.

Accommodation

Participants will be accommodated primarily in the guest house Maison Jean Perrin (MJP) and its Annex, only the sheets and towels are provided (do not forget to take your soaps, toothpaste, etc ...). A limited number of rooms may be booked at the hotel (Hotel l'Observatoire) or guest houses in the village. In addition, you can find accommodation in guest houses and lodges.

Rates OHP

MJP Accommodation : Single room 34 €, double room 19 €, per person, per night
Catering : Meals (lunch and dinner) 21 €, breakfast 3 €
Taxi : contact the company (within the OHP agreements)

In general, the weather in May enable to enjoy the pleasant surroundings of the OHP, in addition to cultural events in and around Forcalquier.
