How to get to the IESC

Your best point drop in Corsica to get to the IESC is the city of Ajaccio. You can do this:
-either by plane (airline companies) at the international airport Ajaccio (AJA). or by boat (ferry companies : corsicaferries, laméridionale) from Marseilles, Toulon and Nice.
Other solutions are possible by air (Bastia, Calvi, Figari) and boat (companies), from France and Italy (Piombino, Livorno, Savona), and combining the two means of transport, but you will reach the town of Cargese on your own. Be aware when booking online, please carefully check the harbor of departure and arrival.

A bus transportation service between Ajaccio airport and Cargese will be organized by the IEC on the following dates:
  • Departure: Ajaccio Airport (for Cargèse): Sunday November 12th, 2017 - (bus) coach parking (to get there from the luggage delivery room you have to go to the exit on your left).
  • Departure: Cargèse (for Ajaccio airport): Saturday, November 18th, 2017 - Place Saint Jean and IESC.

When registering online, you are asked to specify if you opt for the bus organized by the school. In this case, we invite you to coincide your arrivals and departures on these schedules, any other solution will remain at your expense. If this is not possible, you will be contacted to book a taxi and, if possible, to share it with other participants arriving in your time. If necessary, schedule adjustments and venues will be communicated to participants in a timely manner.

By taxi (about 100 €) or rental car. They may be reserved by IESC with a negotiated rate.
With your vehicle from Ajaccio follow the direction "Calvi by the coast" (or failing that "Calvi").

Your stay at the IESC

Accommodation is provided either at the IESC (double room) or in the village (furnished apartment to share) or at the hotel. Only lunch will be provided by the institute. Apartments in the village are provided with necessary equipment (cooking utensils and linen), participants at the IESC can access a kitchen and laundry facilities.
The property is located close to the beach, and participants will have to take a stony path every day in the olive groves. It is strongly recommended to wear comfortable shoes, sun protection and a flashlight. A little rest is necessary after work, do not forget to equip according to the type of your leisure (sea, mountain). Do not hesitate to take your musical instruments, the Institute puts at our disposal a room with a piano. An excursion will be organized by boat or hike, in the vicinity of Cargèse.

The weather in this period generally allows to enjoy this pleasant setting in addition to some cultural events.
